Covid Kit Availability messages

Currently (02/03/2022), patrons calling a branch will hear a short recording stating the branch's Covid Test Kit supply status. The front page of our website also displays each branch's supply status. These statuses can be updated by staff at any time, and changes take effect immediately.

These patron-facing notifications are only effective if they remain up to date. It is imperative that branches update both Phone and Website notices as soon as inventory is depleted or restocked. Please only change status for your branch.

Changing the Phone Notice

  • Call extension 805
  • Hear the "Select your Branch" message, and press the corresponding number. This message is interruptible; press your number at any time.
    • Blacksburg = 1
    • Christiansburg = 2
    • Floyd = 3
    • Meadowbrook = 4
  • Hear the "Select Your Status" instructions. You can not interrupt this message.
  • After the beep, press:
    • No Kits available = 6
    • Yes, Kits are available = 9
  • You will hear, in this order:
    • The digit you pressed
    • Verbal confirmation "No Kits" / "Yes Kits"
    • "Thank You"

You can hang up at this time. The system will return you to the Select Your Branch menu, but again, just hang up.

Patrons will hear one of the two below.

  • Hello, you've reached the *branch*. This branch currently has Covid test kits in stock.
