Draft

All below instructions are for authorized employees only

A report is sent at 8AM daily (Recipients: Linda Spivey, Salena Sullivan, Karim Khan, Chris Elledge) when one or more hotspots are overdue. At this time, they should be deactivated.

When the Hotspot Overdue report is received:

  • Look up Hotspot in Workflows by copying Item ID from report and pasting into "Item Search and Display"
    • Verify status of item (is it still overdue?)
    • Place Copy Hold on item for HOTSPOTCOORD User ID in WF.
      • Note: Patrons that have overdue hotspots won't be able to renew them. As described above, renewal would be denied due to hold.

T-Mobile

Lookup / investigate

For whatever reason, the "Status" column is not shown by default. To Display:

  • Login, etc.
  • Click Modify Columns
  • Turn On Status column
  • If desired, click and drag so this column is near the top of the list. Will reduce scrolling

Deactivate / Reactivate

  • Log in to your account at T-Mobile and navigate to Subscriber Management.
  • Look up by Copy Number (Hotspot Name) or Item ID
    • These columns exist; you may have to scroll right to see them
  • Check the checkbox for that unit's row
    • Can check multiple units at a time if desired
  • Click the Suspend/Restore box, which is above the device list. A Temporary Suspend-Restore Device popup appears.
    • Select Add to Device
    • Set Anticipated Date of Change to today.
    • Change Reason for Service Suspend to Temporary Suspend
    • Do not change other fields.
    • Click Submit
  • A confirmation screen will come up asking if you want to proceed to Checkout
    • Choose YES
  • A Terms and Conditions box will pop up.
    • Scroll to the bottom, choose the box saying you agree to the terms and conditions
    • The Accept box will now be highlighted, click Accept
  • On the checkout screen, scroll to the bottom and choose Checkout
    • The amount will say zero -- no charge for this service
  • The Checkout Success screen will then come up

It has been reported that the deactivation / reactivation changes are not instant. The form summons a human to perform the action.

Reactivation of unit is performed as above with obvious changes.

US Cellular

Email US Cellular to deactivate / reactivate. Include MEID and IMEI information.

The email can be brief saying please turn ON/Off these hotspots. You can include all you need turned On/Off in the same e mail

They seem pretty responsive to requests.
