Any County employee may drive the vehicle, regardless of Defensive Driving Training status. Any human may be a passenger.

When using Dodge Van:

·       Remember to remove your trash, and leave the vehicle in the condition you found it (or better).

·       Record your trip in the Log.

·       If the “Distance to Empty” reading goes below 100 during your trip, you are responsible for fueling the van.

o  There is a button on the steering wheel that is labeled "step" - which will "step", or cycle, the digital odometer interface through different modes (odometer, trip 1, trip 2, temperature, etc.).

o  Select the mode labeled "DTE", or distance to empty.  It will count down how many miles worth of fuel remains in the tank. If this value goes below 100 during your trip, you will need to fuel the van before your return.

To Fuel the Dodge Van:

The Fuel “credit card” (and these instructions) is in a binder kept next to the driver seat. The Commonwealth of Virginia – Voyager contract allows fueling at virtually any gas station. There is an 800 number on the card if you need assistance.

You will need to follow basic instructions on pump, but in general:

·       Select “Credit”, not “Debit”, for the transaction

·       After you swipe the card, the pump will ask you for your “Driver Number” and “Odometer”.  Enter using the pump keypad.  The four digit driver number is 1860.  Be sure to use actual Odometer and not a “trip odometer”.

·       Fill tank (no partial fill-ups)

·       Record information on Fuel Sheet in notebook.

If for some reason you must get gas at a station that necessitates using your own credit card, only purchase enough fuel to get yourself to the nearest participating station – per MC Purchasing Department.
